Homecoming Weekend!

Last weekend (September 14-16, 2012) was my senior year high school Homecoming!
But during the week was pretty crazy because my date but told me a few days before the dance that he couldn't go anymore. I was a little disappointed because I already had my dress and with a short notice, I most likely wouldn't find another date. So then I decided to call one of my best friends, Alec (he goes to a different high school) and see if he wanted to go as friends. He agreed and we started to make plans. But then a day before the dance, a boy that's friends with some of my friends asked me! I was happy but also worried what I would say to Alec since he is my friend, I didn't want to hurt his feelings! Right before I went to the homecoming tailgate party & game, I got a text from my date that his mom wouldn't let him go anymore. I could tell that he felt really bad about it though and I understood but I was starting to get a little stressed out because I just wanted to make this fun! So I called up Alec again feeling like an idiot for asking him again! But Alec is such a sweetheart and a very understanding guy! One of the reasons why he's my best friend :) Haha poor Alec! But let me just say that this was the most CASUAL and FUN homecoming I've ever been to! He and I laughed and just had a great time! Thanks Alec for making this one of the best weekends ever! :)

On Friday, during school we had a pep rally! Since my school is on it's third year, we didn't have a school fight song! Finally they made one and it's a good one! I was never proud of the fact that my school lacks school spirit at games, assemblies, and just at school in general. But this assembly changed things forever at my school. I can now say I am proud to be a student at my school :) Then after school I helped out with the tailgate party behind the football field and we painted people's faces, had popcorn, pie eating contest, ect. At the game, my friends and I cheered for our team to win and we WON! :) To top it off, my best friend, Chelsea was announced as homecoming queen! She is beautiful inside and out! I was so excited to wake up the next morning to get ready for homecoming!

Homecoming nominees (Chelsea is the one in the middle with the white & pink dress)

This is what gave our school spirit. Basically it was just drummers with glow sticks on their drums and they were hitting it with glow in the the dark drum sticks. It was a really neat experience. And the lights were out so that's the only thing we could see. Then out of nowhere everyone stands up and waves their cellphones in the air jumping up and down. It looked like twinkling stars. We were all cheering! We couldn't wait for the game!

Tailgate party that my FBLA officers and I helped out with! (I'm a Historian for FBLA) FBLA is the greatest club btw :)

At the game! We won! :) Notice how much spirit we have! Also, I'm not smiling because my braces were hurting and I was in a lot of pain :( It was hard to smile!

Right before Chelsea was announced queen, they asked me as well as a lot of other people to run across the field with streamers and cheer! That was pretty fun to have my 10 seconds of fame haha :) Congratulations Chelsea!

Homecoming Day
Before I started the preparation for homecoming I had to go to my 3 hour long ACT prep class that I take every saturday morning. Haha that was no fun! At least I got to get a pumpkin spice latte and pumpkin cream cheese muffin from starbucks! It's to die for! When I came home, my beautifying process began! It was pretty fun jamming out to music with my best friend, Kylee and her boyfriend while I was putting on make up :) Kylee and her boyfriend go to a different school but she used to go to my school sophomore year! Here are the pictures:

My homecoming dress is from ModCloth and it's this dress!

I did my makeup, my mom did my hair, and my sweet friend, Kylee and her boyfriend came over to give me company and painted my nails gold! (Click image to see a larger version of it)

Once my date came over we went to a few places around my neighborhood to take pictures! My mom gave us some fun and cute ideas to take pictures of! She's so good at that!

This is where I got everything
Dress: ModCloth (click here)
Shoes: Steve Madden (couldn't find them anywhere online but they look like this)

Earrings: My moms (From a jewelry shop)
Purse: My mom's Chanel bag that I made into a clutch (click here she has it in gold though)
Makeup
Eyeshadow: Mac's Retrospeck & various colors from the Naked 1 & 2 palettes
Foundation: Inglot
Blush: Mac (Not sure what shade but it's peachy)
Bronzer: Laguna from Nars

Lashes: Benefit Bad Gal Lash, ELF false lashes, and individual lashes from target
How I did my Hair
Well my mom did it but I know how she did it! It's sooo easy! It took us 20 minutes! First she used a curling wand and curled 1 inch sections of my hair all over my head started about halfway through my hair. Next she put it in a slightly higher than average pony tail. She let my bangs and a couple pieces hang loose. Then with each individual strand she twisted it with her finger and bobby pinned it somewhere random in my hair. Repeat same process with every strand. Make sure that some of them are loose though! And to top it off, she used a few fake daisies and pinned it to my hair! I added a lot of hairspray to make sure that it stayed the whole night!

What a gorgeous view!

Ignore my awful tan lines! I'm on my high school's tennis team and I'm out in the sun at least 2 hours a day! I tried putting bronzer and it helped a lot! But it still shows! Oh well :)

Close up of my makeup

You can see how I blended my eyeshadow

Bracelet and Chanel bag that my mom let me borrow. Thanks mom! :)

At the dance...
Alec and I decided to get food at a local chinese restaurant. Nothing fancy :) We just wanted to grab some food and go! At the dance we ran into a lot of friends! My bestest (I know that's not a word. Get over it lol) friend, Haley took some pictures! My favorite part of the dance was when the song "Gangnam Style" came on and everyone was doing the dance. My nerdy friends in TSA and FBLA were all dancing to it :) I love being a geek :D

Me, Leighanne, Haley, and Leighanne's date Gabe photobombing lol :)

Our signature best friend pose

Not sure what I was doing but we were cracking up about something! :)

On Sunday...
My mom and I baked pumpkin bread, I got caught up with my homework, and editing the pictures from homecoming.

I couldn't have asked for a better weekend! Wow! This was the perfect last homecoming EVER :D If you want to see an album of pics then click here!

Old Homecomings...
I've been to two other homecomings. My sophomore year of high school I went with my boyfriend I had at the time. His name is Calvin. He is a lacrosse player so he asked me by leaving a lacrosse ball in my locker that said, "Will you go to homecoming with me? Check [ ] yes or [ ] no" I checked "yes" and put it in his backpack. I forgot where we ate dinner haha.

My date, Calvin and I. My dress is from Nordstrom, my necklace and earrings are from Claire's, and my shoes are from JC Penny. I got my hair done at a local hair salon and they made it a half up half down with big wavy/curls. My makeup was done at MAC.

It was freezing so I needed a sweater!

Junior Year Homecoming...
At this point Calvin and I were already broken up for a longggg long time. I went with my boyfriend at the time, Jake. The way how he asked me was we were hanging out and we decided to climb to the top of a nearby mountain to watch the sunset. He kinda indirectly asked me and he was kind of nervous about it because he has never asked anyone to a dance before. But I told him yes of course! Since he went to a different school as me, I went to his homecoming. He got a group of friends together and we went mini-golfing, ate dinner at Market Street Grill (which is a very nice seafood restaurant), went to the dance, and then went to someone's house to watch a movie.

My date, Jake and I.
Dress: I actually forgot haha how embarrassing!
Necklace: Same one I wore for prom. Not sure where it's from.
Clutch: Target
Earrings: My mom's that she got at Target
Shoes: Same silver shoes from Sophomore years' Homecoming (JC Penny)

I got my hair done at the same hair salon as sophomore year. At the time I was obsessed with Tumblr.com and I found a really pretty up-do with a braid in the back that I wanted for homecoming. I showed it to the hair stylist and she loved it! She couldn't make it exactly like the picture but she did a fabulous job! My mom did my makeup and she did a smokey eye using gold and plum. It looked awesome! :) I got my nails and toes done at a nail salon.

Here is the photo inspiration that I showed to my hair stylist!
Mini golfing with the group! Sadly we didn't get any pictures from dinner :(

Apparently our group was looking for us so we can take a group picture but they couldn't find us! Oh well! I decided to put this up anyways because I wanted to show you my group I had! On the far left is Nathan and his date in the blue dress. In the middle is Alec (Yes, the same Alec I went to homecoming with Senior year) and his date, Cest (short for Celeste). And on the far right is Eric and his date, Christina wearing orange. To this day I can say that Alec, Eric, and Cest are my really good friends :) I have kept in contact with them and hang out with them every now and then! Christina and I used to hang out quite a bit but we both got busy and kind of kept out of touch. Well now that I'm thinking of her again, I should probably call her up and see if she wants to do something sometime soon! I have made such great friends from this group! It was seriously the best group ever :)

Well obviously Jake and I broke up or else I wouldn't be going to homecoming with someone else this year haha! But my experience with dances was pleasant for the most part! :) There are times where I didn't go to dances so I would just help my friends get ready instead. I mostly helped my friend, Chelsea. (The same girl that was homecoming queen this year)
I did her makeup for both Junior year Homecoming and Prom!
I don't know why I didn't take better pictures and didn't take pictures of my other friends.. Oh well

I'm hoping that this is the end of my very long post! I want to start documenting my life more often because I want my friends to know how much I appreciate all the good times that we had together and my family to know that I'm happy :)

But for now, I'll stick to the fashion!

Stay classy!
